If you cant beat them join them – SLC to support ICC resolutions

The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket who met yesterday have come out with the decision to support the revised resolutions forwarded by the ICC at the ICC Board meeting held on 8th February 2014 in Singapore.

The ‘big three’ India, England and Australia took stranglehold governance of the ICC recently in an arbitrary take over sighting the fact that they bring in a large share of the revenue to the ICC and thus they should have more power. The ICC  now ‘IEACC’ blatantly hijacked world Cricket taking the running of ICC completely to their hands; it is reported they bartered with other nations dangling carrots and under the table promises which were not brought out in the open in order to get their support.

Countries initially openly opposed South Africa, Sri Lanka and Pakistan had enough weight together to oppose the takeover.  However, South Africa caved in last minute in the face of fodder thrown their way and left Sri Lanka and Pakistan rudderless and raped. The two sub-continent countries were left with no choice but to abstain in fear of persecution as these new powers  were capable of destroying cricket for their countries. Therefore the ICC resolutions were passed in Singapore on 8th February 2014 with the unanimous support of the rest.

The communiqué from SLC states ‘subsequent to the committee members assessing the revised resolutions in detail, all members were satisfied with the amendments made in the areas of governance and competition models and thus unanimously decided to support the paper.”

Further, the Executive Committee proposed the relevant officials to engage in discussions with other member nations to negotiate bi-lateral tours in the FTP (Future Tour Programme) which are in a favourable manner to SLC.
