Sri Lanka to play Afghanistan in U19 world Cup Quarters

The last games of the ICC Under-19 World Cup group stage were completed on Saturday (22nd January), confirming the quarterfinal line up.

Sri Lanka, who topped Group D, registering 3 wins in 3 games, will face Afghanistan in Super League Quarter Final 4 on 27th January.

Group A winners England will take on South Africa who placed 2nd in Group B on 26th January in the 1st Quarter Final. Pakistan, who also ended the group stage unbeaten, topping Group C will meet Group D runners up Australia in the 3rd Quarter Final.

India, who finished Group B with 3 wins in 3 games, will face Bangladesh on 28th January in the 2nd Quarter Final.

Interestingly, Asian contingent will dominate the knockout stage of this year’s U19 World Cup as all the top cricketing nations (Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Afghanistan) in Asian region have qualified for Quarter Finals.
