The Hayleys Table Tennis Team has retained its championship title for the second consecutive year, winning the Men’s A Division, Men’s D Division and Women’s B Division at the 67th Mercantile Table Tennis League Championship 2026, organized by the Mercantile Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka (MTTA) and held at St. Thomas College, Indoor Sports Complex, Mount Lavinia.
The team, made up of employees from nine Hayleys Group companies, was coached by Nadeera Ginige.
In the Men’s A Division, Hayleys won all four of its ties. The team defeated Sysco 3-2 in the closest contest of the campaign, before beating MAS, Seylan and Dialog by 3-0 in each of their matches. The championship-winning side comprised Hashan Weerakoon and Asel Wickramatilake, Helitha Hendawitharana and Muditha Gunathunga.

The Men’s D Division team was equally dominant, winning all three of its ties 3-0 against Commercial Bank B, MIT ESP A and Sysco C. The team consisted of Nissanka Thilakananda, Sahan Yugandara and Geeth Madushan.
In the Women’s B Division, Hayleys also completed the championship with a perfect record. The team beat MAS 3-1 and went on to defeat MIT ESP, Syscolabs and Dialog by 3-0 in each of its matches. The title-winning team comprised Chami Gangoda, Shavindini Gallearachchi and Naduni Perera.
The squad also included Nathasha Siwarathne and Anumi Hewage.
The back-to-back championship reflects the Group’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent and team spirit among its employees, who represent Hayleys across seventeen diverse business sectors.
