Havelock SC Dominates Sri Lions in a Commanding Display

Havelock SC continued their impressive form in the mastercard club rugby league, securing a resounding victory over Sri Lions at Havelock Park yesterday. Coming off a loss in their previous game, Havelock demonstrated their class with a clinical performance that saw them run in seven tries. 

The early stages of the match saw Havelock establish their dominance. Sudesh Jayawickrama opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a well-worked try near the Sri Lions’ 5-meter line, with his brother Sandesh converting successfully.

Sri Lions responded with a penalty from skipper Kevin Dixon, but Havelock quickly regained control. Jayathu Rajarathna crossed the line in the 16th minute following a quick tap penalty from Rifan Mohommed, but Sandesh Jayawickrama’s conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

The pressure continued to mount on Sri Lions as Shehan Silva powered through their defense for Havelock’s third try. Once again, the conversion was missed.

However, Havelock maintained their momentum, with Azmir Fajudeen scoring his first try in the 28th minute, which Sandesh Jayawickrama successfully converted.

Fajudeen added another try before halftime, capitalizing on a powerful driving maul from Havelock. Sandesh Jayawickrama’s successful conversion sent the teams into the break with Havelock comfortably ahead.
