The Annual national awards ceremony organized by the Federation of Motorcycle Sports Sri Lanka (FMSSL) was held at the Grand Monarch Thalawathugoda Yesterday (19th) with the top riders who excelled in their respective disciplines throughout the year receiving accolades.
FMMSL is the official affiliated local representative of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Having been responsible for supporting the local competitions and providing the required expertise let it be scrutinizing, officiating or creating the necessary ground work for the riders who represent the country in international competitions, FMSSL is the national body that oversees the two-wheeled competitions in the country.
Year 2017 saw the emergence of frantic competition brewing amongst the competitors in both gravel and tarmac racing. A healthy notion for the quality improvement, the competition amongst the riders provided the eager racing enthusiast a racing season to remember.
11 National awards were presented at the ceremony which covered all the racing competitions held in the country throughout the year while 5 riders who participated and excelled in international competitions were also recognized at the gala event.
