In Celebration of its 10th anniversary, the Lanka Power Boat Association (LPA) is set to make history by organizing the first-ever Motor Surf World Championship in Sri Lanka.

As the 54th member country and an affiliated local body of the union international Motonautique  (UIM), the world governing body, https://www.uim.sport/  the LPA aims to introduce power boat racing in Sri Lanka and position the country as a professional training destination for participants globally.

The UIM, has affiliated the LPA with the responsibility of promoting the power boat racing on behalf of Governing body in Monticano.

The Motor Surf World Championship is scheduled to take place from November 17th to 19th at the prestigious Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo. This event is not only a milestone for Sri Lanka but also a significant step in promoting the country’s potential as a hub for power boat racing enthusiastic.

LPA aims to introduce Formula Series to Jet surf, racing and licensing to Sri Lankans to compete globally.  Sri Lanka’s natural beauty as a water island and its reputation as the pearl of the Indian Ocean make it an ideal platform for tourists to enjoy professional, safe, and accessible water sports.

The Motor Surf World Championship serves as a testament to Sri Lanka’s potential as a host for international events. With its diverse coastline and pristine waters, the country offers a unique setting for water sports enthusiasts to experience the thrill and excitement of Moto Surf.

Throughout the 10-year period we have come a long way in organizing a national and International training programmes. Also, we are proud that we have initiated the Special task force (STF) water born response team for the 1st Time in Sri Lanka.

The Motor Surf World Championship and the establishment of Power Boat Experience center at cinnamon Lakeside hotel, marks an important milestone for Sri Lanka in its journey to become a prominent water sports destination. The LPA’s dedication to promoting the sport, coupled with Sri Lanka’s natural assets, will undoubtedly attract international attention and position the country as a hub for water sports enthusiasts.

As the inaugural Motor Surf World Championship approaches, all eyes are on Sri Lanka, eagerly awaiting the exhilarating display of skill and talent from participants around the world.
