The Second Edition of the Football Tournament organized by the English Premier League Fans of Sri Lanka will took place 29th of December at the CR and FC Grounds from 8.00am onwards.
The EPLFSL, a group which originally formed on the social networking site facebook organized their first tournament earlier this year during summer as a pilot project in order to gather interest among the members to play for their respective teams that each individual supports. Due to its immense success, the administrators decided to host a tournament that would be far larger in scale in order to accommodate more competition and participation.
The tournament which consisted of an online registration system was limited to four main teams namely Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United while there was a provision for the players who could not register on time or supported a different team to play for the Rest of EPL. Each of the main four teams will have three teams of their own, while the Rest of EPL will have two teams.
With 14 teams vying for the title, each team will have a squad of 12 players as there will be over 150 participants in the tournament. The fourteen teams will be divided into two groups in the preliminary stage, where the top two teams from each group will proceed to the semi finals. Each team will thus have six games where each game will consist of 8 minutes halves. Teams will be allowed to field only 8 players throughout the game, with a few restrictions in terms of tackling as well as the absence of the offside rule will be the key differences in comparison to the normal game.

Having won the tournament in the first edition, the Busby Babes will look to retain the title however, competition will be very stiff this time around with the addition of more teams and more interest shown by the players.
