Ben Stokes is set to recover from a torn left hamstring

Ben Stokes added to the 14-man group after recovering from a torn hamstring.

England on Friday, 29 June, named a 14-man squad for the three-match one-day international series against India starting next month.

The strong squad is similar to the 16-man group that recently defeated Australia 5-0 at home.

The Eoin Morgan-led side features a strong batting line-up that includes Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Alex Hales, Joe Root and Jason Roy, who all are in good form.

Ben Stokes, the all-rounder, who missed the Scotland and Australia series due to a torn left hamstring, has been named, with reports suggesting he will join the national side in time for the third Twenty20 International.

Chris Woakes, the paceman, who is still recovering from a torn right quad and a long-standing knee injury, was not included, but is expected to return in the later part of the series. England still have plenty of pace-bowling options in David Willey, Mark Wood, Tom Curran and Jake Ball.

The squad also includes the spin duo of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid, who were the top wicket-takers in the Australia series, snaring 12 each.

England will first take on India in a three-match Twenty20 International series starting next week, while the ODIs will begin at Trent Bridge from 12 July.
