Sri Lanka`s final hope in the tournament had a fantastic start to the day by winning his quarter final Men`s singles match in a stunning comeback against India`s Aditya Prakash in three gruelling games. Dinuka has had a tournament to remember as he continued his fine form by dismantling his counterpart after losing the first game 21-13.

However Dinuka clawed back like a true warrior and pulled out his best and won a thriller at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium 21-15 , 21-18. Dinuka was one match away by booking himself in the final.

However he was up against another  Indian and second seed Anand Pawar. With all the home support up on his side Dinuka`s semi-final match was the final match of the day and he had a slow start to the game and lost the first game 21-12. However, typically as he always did in the tournament, he roared back into the game by winning the second game 21-15.  Dinuka was one game away from booking himself in the final. Unfortunately that was it for Dinuka as could not keep up the same momentum he had in the second game and lost the decisive third game 21-11. In the other semi-final unseeded Hyun Il Lee created an upset by beating top seed H.S Prannoy from India in three close games 21-10, 16-21, 21-13 and  booked himself in the final where he will be up against Anand Pawar.
