The combination of Sri Lankan player Dineshkanthan Thangarajah and Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha from India beat Joachim Bjerke from Norway and Kelsey Stevenson from Cambodia in the first round of the men’s doubles of the ITF tournament played at SLTA yesterday.
The tournament is organized by Sri Lanka Tennis Association as part of their centenary celebration.
Sankha Atukorale and Sharmal Dissanayake were eliminated in the first round when they were beaten by Andre Dome (USA)/Ben McLachlan (NZ), and another Sri Lankan, Nishangan Nadaraja and his partner Heera Ashiq of Pakistan were eliminated by players from Taipei.
