Dialog Schools Rugby League 2025, organized by Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) will begin on the 6th of June with four matches scheduled for the opening match day.
In the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2025, the top tier, Division 1 Segment A, will see 18 leading rugby schools competing in 3 groups. Division 1 Segment B will consist of 15 schools divided into 5 groups, while Division 1 Segment C will have 12 teams organized into 4 groups.
A total of 80 schools will participate in the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2025. Division 2 will feature 12 schools divided into 4 groups, while Division 3 will include 23 schools competing across 7 groups.

All of the 16 Schools that competed in the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2024 – Division 1 – Segment ‘A’ will play in the same division this year as well, whilst Mahanama College and Ananda College were promoted this year after finishing as No.1 and No.2 respectively in the Final Standings of Segment ‘B’.
St. Peter’s College are the defending champions having won the Dialog Schools Rugby League in 2023 and 2024. Isipathana College won the recently concluded Dialog Schools Rugby Knockouts 2025 – President’s Trophy beating Trinity College in the closely-contested Final.
After the first round concludes on July 5th, the top six teams (the top two from each group) will advance to compete in the Cup segment. The third and fourth-placed teams from each group will then play in the Plate segment, followed by the fifth and sixth-placed schools competing in the Bowl segment.
At the end of the second round, the teams finishing in 17th and 18th place will be demoted to Segment ‘B’. Meanwhile, the winners and runners-up from Segment ‘B’ will be promoted to Segment ‘A’ in 2026.
This format and schedule ensure that one school will play a total of nine league matches. The second-round matches are scheduled to begin on Friday, July 18th.
