Decision on called-off game -Dharmaraja v Science

Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) declared Science College as the winners against Dharmaraja College with a bonus point and Dharmaraja will not receive the losing bonus point.

The secretary of SLSRFA Mr. Susantha Mendis speaking to ThePapare stated that the decision was taken at the meeting held yesterday at Royal College in Colombo. As a result SLSRFA decided to give 1 year band to the master in charge of Dharmaraja College Mr. Saliya Alexander.

When ThePapare.com caught up with Mr. Alexander he stated that he received a letter from secretary of SLSRFA to discuss the issue with the Trinity College principal along with Science College MIC and Mr. Ruban the MIC of Kingswood College on 19th May 2014 and Trinity College principal is said to have told Mr. Alexander at the end of the meeting that he will forward his view to the SLSRFA committee.

Mr. Alexandra further stated he is displeased with the ban sighting personal grudges against him.

ThePapare fails to understand the reason of banning the master-in-charge, however it is possibly due to the SLSRFA not wanting legal issues halting the league.

Further the match commissioner of the St Peters v Dharmaraja game has also been banned for the rest of the season because of his over-sight in allowing unregistered player of Dharmaraja  College to play in the game previous to the called-off game of Science v Dharamaraja.
