A disciplinary committee hearing on the matter of the Dharmaraja college coach Radhika Hettiarachchi assaulting a referee was conducted by the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union as directed by the Sports Minister yesterday.
Chief of referee’s union Orville Fernando speaking to ThePapare conveyed his displeasure at the proceedings as he stated that Hettiarachchi was discharged with just a severe warning.
He also expressed disappointment that instead of penalizing Hettiarachchi the offender, the lineman giving evidence was put under severe pressure on the matter.
