Chaminda Vaas appointed National fast bowling coach

Former Sri Lankan fast bowler Chaminda Vaas has been appointed the new fast bowling coach of the Sri Lankan Men’s cricket team following the resignation of David Saker.

Highly reputed former fast bowling coach Sri Lanka David Saker resigned from his position yesterday (19) with immediate effect stating personal reasons. Saker has been with the Sri Lanka team since December 2019 and proved to be a valuable addition to the coaching setup. 

Upon his departure, Sri Lanka Cricket has decided to call back the former Sri Lankan legend Chaminda Vaas to coach the team for the upcoming tour against the West Indies. 

The Sri Lankan contingent is set to leave the Island on the 23rd of February to the West Indies. 

Vaas being one of the all-time great fast bowlers from Sri Lanka has previously been involved in coaching with the national team in 2013 and also had a stint with the Sri Lanka U19 team.
