Former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf is known for his controversial remarks, and he has once again hogged the limelight by claiming a bizarre set of events that, according to him, are influenced by BCCI.

According to Ashraf, BCCI has been conspiring against the key Pakistan players, namely Mohammad Hafeez and Saaed Ajmal, by getting them suspended and keeping them out of action for a prolonged period of time. He also went on to add that ‘the pleasing BCCI policy’ adopted by the current Pakistan board is only going to hurt Pakistan cricket.

Speaking to The Dawn, Ashraf said, “It’s a conspiracy hatched against Pakistan cricket by the Indian lobby to get their key spinner suspended.”

“PCB should have appealed to the International Cricket Council (ICC) in the Mohammad Hafeez bowling action case,” he further went on to add.

Going on to press his point, Ashraf stated, “The suspensions of Hafeez and Saeed Ajmal at the crucial time of the World Cup caused great damage to Pakistan in the mega event.”

Further showing his displeasure with the current board, Ashraf insisted,” PCB preferred to send their bowlers for bio-mechanics test to Chennai despite the fact that the same kind of labs were working in Australia and South Africa as well.”

However, the PCB in a statement made it clear that the board didn’t appeal against Hafeez’s suspension because there were no solid grounds to contest the case.
