A felicitation ceremony was organized for the Asia Cup-winning Cricket team, Asian Netball Champions and Commonwealth Games Medal winners under the patronage of President Ranil Wickramasinghe last night (16th September), at Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel in Colombo.
During the ceremony, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) gave away Rs. 2 million to each netball player of the victorious Sri Lankan Netball team.
In addition to this, the Silver Medalist at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games received Rs. 10 million, while the Bronze Medalist was awarded with Rs. 5 million and the Coaches received 25% allocation from the Sports Fund.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) also made a donation worth USD 500,000 to Maharagama Apeksha Hospital (National Cancer Institute) during the event.
