The Anchor Newdale Relay Carnival 2026 filled Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex with energy, excitement, and outstanding team spirit on 25th January, setting a blistering pace for the year ahead.
The carnival brought together 80 schools and clubs from every corner of the island. Competitors faced off in the 200m Medley and 200m Freestyle relays, testing both individual speed and collective coordination across six age categories.
Girls from Lyceum International School – Wattala secured the girls’ overall Championship with a narrow but decisive 12-point lead, overruling last year’s champions – Ladies’ College. St. Joseph’s College dominated the Boys’ category as always, continuing the winning streak with a total of 380 points. Lyceum international School – Wattala finished 2nd in line with 259 points in the Boys’ category.
With the conclusion of the Anchor Newdale Relay Carnival, the tone has been set for a year of record-breaking performances and spirited rivalries in Sri Lankan Swimming.
