The 31st All Island Schools Sports Championship which was organized by the Health & Physical division and Sports division of the Education Ministry was started on 12th of September 2015 under 3 phases.
The 2nd phase of this championship was started on 17th of September and the last day will be today.
Swimming, Gymnastic, Aerobic Gymnastic & Table Tennis have already concluded their matches and today is the last day of Volleyball, Judo, Weight Lifting, Basketball, Football, Chess, Taekwondo & Carom. For the chess championship there are about 700 students participating and from about 80 schools. This was organized by the Schools Chess Committee and there will be 6 rounds to complete this chess championship. While considering about taekwondo event in this championship this is the 1st time which School teams participating for this championship. There are about 180 competitors from 40 schools in 7 provinces. Kumthe is an event including dancing and fighting together and ended yesterday and the rest will conclude today.
