Milo Netball All Island Champions 2016 (U14 & U18) - Holy Family Convent Kurunegala
Sri Lanka Schools Netball Association in collaboration with sponsors Nestle Lanka, organized the All Island Netball Championship for the 25th consecutive time.
The young ladies of HFC Kurunegala won the championships in the age categories of under 14 and 18 “A” division. They beat Ananda Balika Vidyalaya 28-16 in the under 18 game and beat St.Bridget’s Convent by a narrow score of 18-17 in the under 14 game.
Vishakians from Colombo bagged the under 16 trophy for themselves by beating Kalutara Balika ladies 18-08.
In the “B” division Sirimalwatte Maha Vidyalaya girls from Guththapana beat Bandarapola M.V 17-13 in their final under 14 match to take the trophy home. The under 16 category saw Bandarapola M.V beat Devi Balika from Dompe 13-11 in their final match. In the under 18 category Ranjan Wijeratne College girls who came along from Buttala beat Ananda M.M.V. from Walhaputana 22-17.
A total 360 teams from around the island came down to Matara to take part in this tournament and they competed 2 divisions and 4 age categories.

‘A’ Division,
Under 14-Holy Family Convent Kurunegala beat St.Bridget’s Convent 18-17. Best Player-Roshelle Fernando(St.Bridget’s Convent)
Under 16-Vishaka College beat Kalutara College 18-08. Best player-Helani Ama Wijeyrathne(Vishaka College)
Under 18-Holy Family Convent,Kurunegala beat Ananda Balika Vidyalaya 28-06,Best player-Pabasara Tennakoon(Holy Family Convent)
‘B’ Division,
Under 14-Sirimalwatte M.V,Guththapana beat Bandarapola M.V,Matale 17-13,Best player-Pawani Wijayakirthi(Sirimalwatte M.V)
Under 16-Bandarapola M.V Matale beat Devi B.V Dompe 13-11,Best player Upeksha Chathurangani (Bandarapola M.V)
Under 18-Ranjan Wijeyrathne M.V Buttala beat Ananda M.M.V,Walhaputanna 22-17,Best Player-Nimesha Madushani(Ranjan Wijeyrathne M.V)
