Air Force SC v MAS Casualline – 1st Semi Final (Women’s Super League)

Air Force SC defeated MAS Casualline 3-0 in the semi-final of the Women’s Super League of the Munchee National Volleyball Championship 2018 at the National Youth Services Council Indoor Stadium, Maharagama.

It was MAS Casualline who started scoring first but Air Force, with several Sri Lanka players, took control of the game to lead 15-8. They maintained the lead to win the 1st set 25-17.

Air Force were up 10-6 racing to an early lead in the 2nd set. The lead swelled to six-points at 21-15 as they wrapped up the set at 25-18.

The 3rd set was a close encounter where MAS Casualline led midway through the set. However, Air Force took a decisive 15-13 lead and never looked back outscoring 10-5 in the next 15-points to win 25-18.  

Army SC v Navy SC – 2nd Semi Final (Women’s Super League)

Army SC defeated Navy 3-0 in the semi-final of the Women’s Super League of the Munchee National Volleyball Championship 2018 at the National Youth Services Council Indoor Stadium, Maharagama.

Both sides traded points in the early going and were 10-9 at one stage. However, the experience of Army shone against the young Navy players as they took a 4-point lead at 17-13. Army won the 1st set 25-21.

Army, who had by now settled down into the game, took control of the game and were leading 8-4 at the first technical timeout. They made it 13-6 before going onto win the set 25-16.

Taking a 5-0 lead in the 3rd set, Army took the fight away from Navy. Navy tried a couple of times to make a comeback but Army thwarted those attacks to win the set 25-20.
