AFC under 14 girls’ regional football championship is to be held from 5th March 2013 to 10th March 2013. This was revealed in a media briefing held at the football house this evening.
Samaposha a subsidiary of Ceylon Biscuits Limited has come forward to secure the sponsorship of the event. The mega event which holds for the 4th consecutive year will be organized by Football Federation of Sri Lanka.
Teams from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran and Tajikistan will join in the AFC Under 14 Girls Regional championship apart from the hosting Sri Lankan team. It has been organized to hold 15 matches in the 5 day festival at CR&FC grounds and City Football Complex.
The very first match will be played between the Sri Lankan team and the Bhutan team which scheduled to held in 5th of March at CR&FC grounds. The Sri Lankan team will be lead by Captain Madubhashini Nawanjana of Bomiriya Maha Vidyalaya Kaduwela.
The hosting Sri Lankan team will face their second game against Iran on 6th March at CR&FC grounds while the 3rd match will be held against India on 7th. Girls from Tajikistan and Bangladesh will face the Sri Lankan team on the 9th and 10th March respectively.
