Abhimana 2013 is a sports and cultural extravaganza organized by the Sri Lankan students of Acharya Institutes Bangalore, India.
It will be held on the 31st of March at the College premises. The event is a platform to showcase the talents of students, on the field as well as on stage. The extravaganza will kick start with the sports carnival from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm, and will be followed by a cultural show.
This time students from 22 different colleges will be taking part in this event as opposed to last year where only 12 colleges were present The sporting carnival will consist of an “Elle” tournament for girls and a Football tournament for the boys. Both events are eagerly looked forward by the students. A total of 8 girl’s teams participated last year for the Elle tournament and Acharya Institute emerged champions while Sambram College were runners up. T-Johns College emerged victorious in the boy’s football tournament while the team from Indian Academy emerged runners-up.
This Sports and Cultural Extravaganza is an exhibition of Sri Lankan talent overseas at its best, and for the second time, the event will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipated.
