Sri Lanka have added Kamil Mishara and Sahan Arachchige to their squad for the second Test against India, with the hosts set to be without three first-choice batters due to injury concerns.

Head coach Gary Kirsten confirmed that Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal and Pathum Nissanka are unavailable for the second Test, leaving Sri Lanka with significant gaps in their batting department.

Mendis and Nissanka missed the opening Test in Galle due to injuries, with Mendis sidelined by a hamstring issue and Nissanka recovering from a wrist injury.

Sri Lanka have now suffered another blow with Chandimal also expected to miss the second Test after sustaining a concussion during the opening Test.

The absence of the experienced trio has opened the door for Mishara and Arachchige to join the squad ahead of the second Test.

The second Test between the two sides will be played at the SSC Grounds, Colombo from 23rd to 27th August.
