The Sri Lanka Nationals 2026 – Powered by YETI, the country’s most prestigious and highest-ranked domestic tennis championship, is set to bring together Sri Lanka’s leading tennis talent from 7 to 23 August 2026 at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA), Colombo.

With a proud history spanning more than a century, the Sri Lanka Nationals stands as the pinnacle of domestic competitive tennis and one of the most significant events in Sri Lanka’s tennis calendar.

Following the establishment of the Ceylon Lawn Tennis Association in 1915, the championship evolved into the premier annual tournament of the sport. Since then, generations of Sri Lanka’s finest tennis players have competed for Nationals honors, adding their names to a distinguished legacy that continues to inspire the country’s emerging talent.

The Sri Lanka Nationals 2026 – Powered by YETI, the 111th edition of this historic championship, has once again generated exceptional interest, with more than 1,000 entries received despite the main draws being restricted to 64 players in the relevant events. The championship also continues to attract Sri Lankan players residing overseas, many of whom eagerly look forward to returning each year to compete in the country’s premier domestic tournament.

The Sri Lanka Nationals features a comprehensive program of competition spanning Junior, Open, Senior and Wheelchair Tennis, bringing together players across generations and showcasing the depth and diversity of tennis in Sri Lanka.

The Junior Championships features Boys’ and Girls’ Singles and Doubles events in the Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 age categories, while the Open Championships features Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Prize money will be awarded across all Open events, with a total prize purse expected to be Rs. 1 million (TBC).

The tournament will be conducted under the direction of Mr. Stephen Raj Pathmanathan, Tournament Director, with Ms. Shehara Madawala serving as Tournament Referee.

The Sri Lanka Tennis Association acknowledges the leadership and support of its President, Mr. Iqbal Bin Issack; General Secretary, Mr. Pradeep Goonasekera; Vice President and Chairman of the Tournaments and Matches Committee, Mr. Rukmal Cooray; and the SLTA Committee, whose continued guidance and commitment contribute to the successful organization of the Sri Lanka Nationals.
