St. Peter’s survive late Ananda fightback to stay unbeaten

St. Peter’s College held off a spirited Ananda College comeback to secure a thrilling 34-32 victory at Ananda Grounds. The game was locked at 17-all at halftime with Peterite skipper Shenuka Perera producing a superb first-half hat-trick, while Cheval Abeygoonewardena also crossed over. Revone Perera starred in the second half with a brace of tries as the Peterites built a lead, before Ananda fought back strongly through Deneth Dilshan and skipper Deneth Chamuditha. Chamuditha had a last-minute conversion to level the scores, but the kick drifted wide as St. Peter’s escaped with the win.
