The 109th Northern Battle of the Golds between St. Patrick’s College, Jaffna and Jaffna College, Vaddukoddai commenced today (12th March) at Jaffna College Grounds.

Having won the toss, St. Patrick’s College elected to field first and produced an impressive bowling performance to restrict Jaffna College to a modest total of 176 runs.

Middle-order batter Hamish Harmishon stood out for Jaffna College with a fighting knock of 61 runs, providing some resistance amid regular wickets falling at the other end.

Leading the bowling attack for St. Patrick’s College was Mathiyalagan Adhithya, who delivered an outstanding spell to claim 4 wickets for 25 runs. He was well supported by Japinson Kemishan, who chipped in with 3 wickets for 29 runs to dismantle the Jaffna College batting lineup.
