The second week’s matches of the Plate segment of the SLC Major Club 3-Day League 2025/26 concluded yesterday (1st February) with all three encounters ending in draws.
At Maggona, Panadura Sports Club emerged with major honors in their drawn encounter against Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club. Panadura SC were led by a composed knock of 90 runs from Shalith Fernando, which anchored their first innings effort.

With the ball, Dushan Vimukthi delivered a standout performance, claiming a five-wicket haul in Tamil Union’s first innings to tilt the balance in Panadura SC’s favour despite the match ending without a result.
Meanwhile, the clash between Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club and Nugegoda Sports & Welfare Club at Galle also ended in a draw, with Kurunegala YCC taking major honours. The match was highlighted by two impressive centuries, as Gayan Maneeshan produced a fine hundred for Kurunegala YCC, while Pathum Kumara responded with a century of his own for Nugegoda S & WC.
The bowling honours were shared, with Nipun Malinga picking up a six-wicket haul for Nugegoda S & WC, while Kasun Ekanayake returned a five-wicket haul for Kurunegala YCC in a closely fought contest.

In the third encounter at Kurunegala, Chilaw Marians Cricket Club and Badureliya Sports Club were also forced to settle for a draw. Batting dominated the proceedings as Sammu Ashan of Chilaw Marians CC and Dilshan de Soysa of Badureliya SC both struck brilliant centuries.
With the ball, Suminda Lakshan stood out for Badureliya SC, claiming a five-wicket haul to ensure his side remained competitive throughout the match.
