The Karate-Do Championship of the 49th National Sports Festival concluded successfully in Galle with the participation of a high number of the finest talents on the island. The Western Province team won the overall championship while they also managed to win the men’s and women’s championships, respectively. Western Province men secured 4 golds, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals, while their women’s team clinched 4 golds, one silver and two bronze. The Karate-Do players from the Central and Eastern provinces clinched overall 1st and 2nd runners-up positions.
