Mahanama College, Colombo registered a 9-run win (DLS Method) over D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo to clinch the inaugural T20 encounter between the sides played yesterday (23rd May) at CCC Grounds, Colombo.
Due to the rain interruptions, D.S. Senanayake innings was reduced to 18 overs in which they managed to post 134 runs for 6 wickets.

The wicket-keeper batter Ranumitha Sehas was the chief run-getter for D.S. Senanayake College as he made 50 runs off 38 balls with 3 fours and a six.
Dulnith Sigera and Chamika Heenatigala bagged 2 wickets each for Mahanama College.
Sigera and Sineth Veerarathne got Mahanama College off to a great start with a 54-run stand for the opening wicket, but a flurry of wickets in the middle phase of the innings dragged them back in the run-chase.
The middle-order batter Sithum Vihanga then played a brilliant cameo down the order to turn the game in favor of Mahanama College. When Mahanama were 126/6 after 16 overs, the heavens opened up once again bringing the curtains down on the day’s play.

When the rain stopped play, Mahanama College were 9 runs ahead as per the DLS calculations, thus declared as winners of this contest.
