The second unofficial Youth Test between Sri Lanka Emerging Team and Bangladesh Emerging Team continued for day two today (1st November) at Dambulla.
Bangladesh resumed their first innings on day two at 153/6 with their No. 6 batter Akbar Ali remained unbeaten at the crease on 62. Ali with the support of tail-end batters, managed to take the visitors first innings total to 251.
Fast bowler Chamika Gunasekara was brilliant with the ball for Sri Lanka as he grabbed 9 wickets for 58 runs. Ali was the only standout batter for the visitors as he brought up a fighting century for his side.
In reply, Sri Lanka weren’t able to get off to a good start as they lost 3 wickets for 40 runs up front. The skipper Sonal Dinusha and Ahan Wickramasinghe steadied the innings, adding unbeaten 41-run stand for the 4th wicket as the hosts posted 81/3 before bad light brought early stumps on day two.
