Stephan Gregory-led Navy Sports Club will be seeking to bring back their glory days as they kick off the 2022/23 Club Rugby season.
Plate Champions from last season, the Sailors, will no doubt be aiming to get into the top 4 and even make a push towards a Championship.
Navy lost a few big names coming into this season, with the likes of Chathura Seneviratne and Raveen De Silva moving on towards greener pastures. However, the bulk of the crop remains the same and there is no doubt that new Coach Saliya Kumara will be seeking to make an instant impact coming into the backroom staff after leaving the Sri Lanka Women’s outfit.
Former Joephian stalwart Stephan Gregory assumes Captain duties for the 2022/23 season, while the likes of Samuel Maduwantha, Adeesha Weerathunga, Thilina Wijesinghe and Dinesh De Silva will all be aiming to make an impact going into the fresh season.
The likes of Radeesha Senevirathne, Gihan Madushanka and Vimukthi Gamage will look to solidify the back row stocks in order to propel the Sailors towards success of the past.
