Sri Lanka’s badminton team finished off well with a good win over Lithuania 3-1 in their final game in the Sudirman Cup tournament in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia on Friday.
Niluka Karunaratne earned an easy win in the men’s singles match while he partnered his brother Dinuka to win the men’s doubles match too.
Later the women’s doubles pair of Chandrika de Silva and Shehani Hadunkuttihettige paired off to earn a hard fought win in a three setter, 21/13, 19/21, 21/16 to clinch the mixed team match.
Earlier, Sri Lanka lost to the Philippines 2-3 on Wednesday.
Niluka Karunaratne won his men’s singles match in straight sets while he paired off with his brother Dinuka to win the men’s doubles match as well.
Sri Lanka finished off with wins over Croatia, Turkey and Lithuania while losing to New Zealand, Ukraine and Philippines.
