Sri Lanka Cricket, Sydney have organized a T20 match followed by a gala dinner to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sri Lanka Cricket’s triumph over Australia in the final of the Wills World Cup 1996.
According to the organizing committee, Arjuna Ranatunga, Aravinda De Silva, Muttiah Muralitharan, Roshan Mahanama, Hashan Tillakaratne, Asanka Gurusinghe, Chaminda Vaas, Romesh Kaluwitharana, Upul Chandana, Pramodya Wickramasinghe, Ravindra Pushpakumara & Dave Whatmore are expected to participate in the event.
The organizers hope to auction off some memorabilia and conduct player interviews during the event in order to raise funds for the ‘Past Sri Lankan Cricketers’ Fund’.
The match will be played at Pratten Park, Ashfield, New South Wales on the 29th of October and will be followed by a gala dinner ‘A Night with the Champs’ at Grand Paradiso Function Centre, St. Fairfield.
