The 32nd Singer-MCA Super Premier League 2025 delivered a thrilling day of cricket at the MCA Grounds, Thurstan Grounds & Colts Grounds in Colombo, with Fairfirst Insurance, Maliban Biscuits ‘A’ and CDB ‘A’ emerging victorious in their respective matches.

In a high-scoring clash, Fairfirst Insurance secured a commanding win over HNB in a match that showcased exceptional batting prowess.  

The standout performer was Moditha Ranathunga, who played a match-defining knock of an unbeaten 105 runs off 67 balls, including 9 fours and 6 sixes. His aggressive yet composed innings powered Fairfirst Insurance to a formidable total, setting a challenging target for HNB.  

HNB, in response, put up a valiant fight, driven by Sammu Ashan’s brilliant 106 runs off 90 balls, which featured 12 fours and 2 sixes.   

Maliban Biscuits ‘A’ showcased their bowling strength in a dominant performance against Hayleys Group ‘A’, thanks to the exceptional efforts of left-arm spinner Wanuja Sahan Kumara.  

Kumara was the standout bowler of the day, claiming an impressive 5 wickets for 13 runs. His lethal spell dismantled the Hayleys batting lineup, restricting them to a low score and paving the way for an easy chase for Maliban Biscuits ‘A’.
