Schools U19 Division 1 Cricket Tournament – Tier A
Trinity College Skipper Abishek Anandakumar bettered his season with a six-wicket haul which bamboozled Wesley College. The rain-shortened game ended in favour of Trinity College, as Wesley were shot out for 134 runs.
In another game between St. Anthony’s College, Kandy and Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa, Sri Lanka youth cap Chamindu Wickramsinghe struck a graceful 64 not-out to see the Antonians record a 9-wicket victory.
Schools U19 Division 1 Cricket Tournament – Tier B
Randunu Gunarathne was the top-scorer of the day in schools. His 81 runs against Zahira College gave his school, Isipathana College, a massive 200-run win.
Ananda College also earned themselves a 9-wicket win against Dharmapala College, in which Tehaan Perera was key. Tehaan picked up 5 wickets for 26 runs which left the Dharmapalians with just 67 runs on board.
Niman Umesh of St. Peter’s College also bowled a very impactful spell in their game against St. Aloysius’ College, which undid the boys from Galle for 67 runs. Umesh picked up 4 wickets for just 5 runs, giving no room for error for the Aloysians.
