Colombo International School (CIS) delivered a comprehensive performance at the MCA Grounds in Colombo to secure a 132-run victory over Wycherley International School. Despite Wycherley winning the toss and opting to bowl, the CIS batting lineup, anchored by a masterful century, proved too formidable to contain.

CIS set the tone early, posting a massive 341/9 in their allotted 50 overs. The standout performer was Nikhil Peiris, who played a blistering innings of 126 runs off 98 balls. His knock was a masterclass in controlled aggression, featuring 11 boundaries and 6 sixes.

Nikhil found a potent partner in Methuka Samarasinghe, who provided a rapid-fire 57 off just 44 deliveries, including 10 fours. Other notable contributions came from Suhaan Kulkarni (34) and Vishen Gunasekara (23).

Wycherley’s bowling effort was led by Amrin Ismath, who claimed 3 for 63 in his 10 overs. Dojitha Jayawardena also chipped in with 2 for 34, including the crucial wicket of CIS captain Lisath Semika for a duck. However, Wycherley’s discipline faltered significantly, conceding a staggering 51 extras (including 34 wides), which propelled the CIS total well beyond reach.

Chasing a daunting target of 342, Wycherley International School was eventually bundled out for 209 in 39.4 overs. While several batsmen got starts, they struggled to build the substantial partnerships required for such a high chase.

Amrin Ismath followed up his bowling performance with a valiant 50 off 57 balls, while opener Atif Sharaz contributed a steady 44. Praneeth Chandrakumar also showed resistance with 35, but the innings was completely derailed by a sensational spell of bowling from Aaron Rammogan.

Rammogan was untouchable, finishing with incredible figures of 6 for 29 in just 6 overs. He effectively polished off the middle and lower order, claiming the wickets of Ismath, Chandrakumar, and four others to seal the win. Supporting him were Lisath Semika, Methuka Samarasinghe, Shenon Wijerathne, and Nikhil Peiris, who each picked up one wicket to complete the rout.
