The Royal College Hockey Club (RCHC), in proud collaboration with Royal College, Colombo, proudly unveils the official logo for the 20th Edition of the Blue and Gold Hockey Sevens, marking a historic milestone in Sri Lanka’s most celebrated schools’ hockey tournament.
This special edition logo, launched today, serves as a powerful symbol of legacy, unity, and future promise—honouring a tournament that first began in 1992, was revived in the early 2000s, and has since evolved into a blue-riband event in the island’s schools’ hockey calendar.

The 20th Edition of the Blue and Gold Hockey Sevens will take place on August 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2025 at the Royal College Main Grounds, hosting over 70 boys’ and girls’ teams competing across Cup, Plate, and Bowl categories.
“This logo is more than a design—it’s a tribute to three decades of excellence and resilience,” said Damitha Silva, Secretary of the Royal College Hockey Club. “With this mark, we celebrate not only a tournament but a movement that has grown in strength, stature, and spirit. The 20th Edition is our proudest chapter yet.”
The event opens with a Captains’ Dinner on August 8th, a dignified gathering that honours school leadership and camaraderie. This year’s tournament takes on a truly international flavour, with the participation of teams from overseas and a panel of experienced umpires that include respected foreign officials. These additions elevate the standard of competition and promote cross-cultural exchange among young athletes. The tournament culminates in a vibrant musical show on August 09th, featuring some of Sri Lanka’s most popular performers and surprise elements designed to enhance the experience for players, spectators, and families alike.

Punsara Aravinda, Tournament Chairman, remarked: “We wanted this edition to reflect not just growth, but transformation. The new logo sets the tone for an evolved tournament experience—more professional, more inclusive, and more memorable than ever before.”
The organizing committee extends its heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors and partners who have been instrumental in bringing this tournament to life for over two decades. We are especially thankful to our Title Sponsors over the years, SINGER and more recently ESOFT, as well as our Platinum and Gold Sponsors and Official Partners. Their shared belief in youth empowerment through sport has fueled and continues to fuel our collective journey.
In addition to electrifying hockey action, the tournament will feature dedicated hospitality areas for alumni, dignitaries, sponsors, and media, with content and highlights shared across multiple digital and broadcast platforms. The 20th Edition brand identity—including the new logo—will also be carried through exclusive merchandise, signage, digital content, and celebratory memorabilia.
