ThePapare Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer 2022, to identify the most popular schoolboy cricketer in the island, organised by Sri Lanka’s No. 1 Sports Hub, ThePapare.com officially kicked off for the 2nd consecutive year today (22) at 4.00PM.
The first round of the contest which began today will officially come to an end at 11.59PM on the 31st of August. For this initial round (Phase 1), 108 budding cricketers from 36 schools which competed in Division 1 for the 2021/22 season have been chosen.
All you need to do to cast your vote for your favourite player in Phase 1, is to simply visit www.thepapare.com. The 36 players with the highest number of votes at the end of Phase 1 will advance to Phase 2, which is when the SMS voting will begin. The SMS round will begin on the 2nd of September and conclude on the 16th of September (5:59 pm).

During the first ever ThePapare Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer contest which took place last year, the 36 cricketers who qualified for the 2nd round received a mammoth SMS count of 2,174,779. The eventual winner of the first edition, Sri Lanka U19 & Royal College Allrounder Sadisha Rajapaksa bagged 1,034,559 SMS votes.
Thrimalsha Silva, the allrounder of St.Anne’s College Kurunegala grabbed the runner up trophy of the first edition with 631,804 votes while Isipathana College opening batter Thevindu Dickwella ended up taking 3rd place with 275,343 votes.

Rules & Regulations
108 Youth cricketers from 36 schools have been chosen for round 1, where voting will take place only on www,thepapare,com website.
Phase 1 will take place from the 22nd of August to 31st of August.
The 36 players with the most number of votes at the end of Phase 1 will advance to Phase 2 aka the SMS Round.
The SMS Round will begin on the 2nd of September and end on the 16th of September at 5.59PM.
The player with most number of SMS votes in Phase 2 (Phase 1 votes will not be carried forward) will be crowned ThePapare Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer 2022.
The final decision lies with ThePapare.com.
