Ten Sri Lankan players departed for South Africa last night (11th November) to participate in a pre-series camp ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa.
Sri Lanka Test skipper Dhananjaya de Silva, Dimuth Karunaratne, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal and Prabath Jayasuriya among the 10 players who left for Durban in South Africa where the arrangements have been made for the players to train and practice.
The rest of the squad will leave the island on 22nd November after the end of three-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
The upcoming Test series forms part of the ICC World Test Championship Cycle for 2023– 2025, making it a crucial encounter for Sri Lanka to stay in the race for a place in the WTC final.
