Lyceum International School, Nugegoda created history by becoming the first International school to record an outright win when they trounced Homagama Central College by 10 wickets in their all-island schools’ under 15 division 3 encounter which was worked off at S. De. S Jayasinghe College grounds on Monday.

After opting to bowl first, Lyceum cleaned up their opponents for a mere 55 runs. Joshua Suppiah took a superb 7-wicket haul for just 11 runs bowling 12 overs. For the lads from Homagama, Kavinda Hasaru scored 15 runs facing 60 deliveries.

Lyceum in reply made 103 for the loss of 5 wickets before declaring their innings. Yasiru De Silva made a quick-fire 23-ball 30 while Nihindu Walpola smashed 22 from 25 balls with 3 fours and a six.

Homagama Central College was once again bowled out for a low score of 50 as Nisal Hettiarachchi grabbed 5 wickets. Joshua Suppiah and Nihindu Walpola captured 2 wickets apiece. Lyceum needed only 3 runs to complete the victory and they reached it with ease.

Homagama Central – 55 all out in 34 overs: Kavindu Hasaru 15, Joshua Suppiah 7/11.

Lyceum International – 103/5 in 19.4 overs: Yasiru De Silva 30, Nihindu Walpola 22, Himasha Dilru 2/32.

Homagama Central (2nd inn) – 50 all out in 26.4 overs: Nisal Hettiarachchi 5/16, Joshua Suppiah 2/10, Nihindu Walpola 2/5.

Lyceum International (2nd inn) – 3 for no loss in 0.4 overs.
