The Numbers game: Thurstan College v Isipathana College

1548
Thustan v Pathana

With the big match season a few days away from its commencement, let’s take a look at who have been the highest on the list of numbers in the Battle of the Brothers.

Since the inception (1964) of the Battle of the Brothers there have been many youngsters from both schools who have shone with bat, ball and in the field for Thurstan and Isipathana as they kept growing towards producing more prospects for Sri Lanka cricket.

The first century came in the very first encounter as Priya De Mel of Isipathana made 136 unbeaten runs in the very first big match. Centuries were few and far between as it took 26 years for a Thurstanite to make a century. It was Kamal Mahendra in 1990 who made 146 not out.
