Kingswood College, Kandy has decided to pull out from the upcoming President’s trophy and the their position has been replaced by St. Joseph’s College, Colombo.
Kindgswood, ranked third in the league competition has informed the knockout tournament organisers Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) that many of their key players were injured after the last league match against Isipathana hence forced to withdraw form the tournament.
Accordingly SLSRFA has filled the position with the next available replacement which is St. Joseph’s College who ranked seventh in the league competition.
Briefing to SLSRFA media, Susantha Mendis, Secretary, SLSRFA said since there is a rank difference between Kingswood and St. Joseph’s, the competing teams of the second and the third quarter final matches of the President’s trophy had been changed and according to the new banding, St. Peter’s will meet Science in the second quarter final match while Royal will meet St. Joseph’s in the third.
