Sri Lanka’s premier squash players Ravindu Laksiri and Mihiliya Methsarani took major honours in the recently concluded 12th Open Air Force Squash Championship that was worked off at the Air Force squash courts over the last weekend.

The Air Force Open Squash Championships organised by the Sri Lanka Air Force is one of the major tournament that takes place in the sport and is conducted under the national body.

Sri Lanka’s top squash title holder, Mihiliya Methsarani met usual opponent Fathoum Issadeen in the finals of the Women’s Open and it was the 6-time national champion that got the better out of Issadeen winning the finals 11/1, 11/8 & 11/2.

In similar fashion, it was Ravindu Laksiri who came back to his usual form defeating Shamil Wakeel in the Men’s Open final as he won the title with scores reading 11/7, 11/7 & 11/4. It was easy going for the former D. S. Senanayake player against Shamil Wakeel to take the silverware.
