Ragama CC crash inside two days again

The final round of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Major League Tier A segment continued around the island today(16). 

Ragama vs BRC

Suraj Randiv bowled a mesmerizing spell to clean up a hapless Ragama CC batting line up for a paltry 138 runs setting them 119 for an outright victory.

The star studded Ragama CC batting line were destroyed by some classical off spin from Randiv, with only Sri Lanka Test cap Roshen Silva and Lahiru Milantha providing some resistance with scores of 34 and 37 respectively.

BRC skipper TM Sampath then led their run chase with a flamboyant half century as BRC recorded an impressive 8 wicket win while also ending the match inside two days.

This was also Ragama CC’s second consecutive loss inside two days in the Super 8s, after they were humiliated by Chilaw Marians a few days back.

Saracens vs SLPA CC

Saracens SC took control of their match against Ports Authority as they secured a vital 91 run first innings lead.

Ashen Bandara’s unbeaten 87* lifted them to 311 all-out, before their pace combination of Ranitha Liyanarachchi and Mohomed Dilshad shared eight wickets between them to bowl out SLPA for just 220 runs. However, former English Test cap Nick Compton made a gritty century as wickets continued to tumble around him.

Colts vs NCC

NCC made a humongous 618/9 declared and were on the verge of an outright win when stumps were drawn on day two.

The stars of their innings were Lahiru Udara, Bhanuka Rajapakse, Mahela Udawatte and Angelo Perera who all made centuries.

Prabath Jayasuriya concedes 224 runs picking up four scalps while Nisala Tharaka pocked up three wickets.

Chilaw vs SSC

Chilaw Marians tightened there grip on the Major League Tier A title as they ended day two 186 runs ahead of SSC.

SSC managed only 232 all-out in reply to Chilaw’s 372 with half centuries coming from Sammu Ashan and Chamara Kapugedara.

Shehan Jayasuriya was he chief wrecker once again capturing four wickets while Thikshila De Silva chipped in with three.
