Manchester United will face a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo …

Liverpool came into the game after having enjoyed a perfect start to the league recording wins in the first three games. Leicester too were after two back to back wins after losing to Manchester United.

The Leicester new signing Rachid Ghezzal was handed his first premier league game while Klopp decided to have Jordan Henderson return to captain the Reds.

A wonderful play by Henderson and Mohamed Salah had the ball fed to Roberto Firmino who was already in the Leicester box. The Brazilian went for a shot which was denied by Schmeichel and the rebound by Salah went wide at the right post.

The visitors went ahead as early as in the 11th minute as Sadio Mane got his name on the score board. Andrew Robertson provided the assist from the left wing for Mane.

The early minutes of the game saw several instances where Salah, Firmino and Mane combine to create chances at the Leicester end. The 28th minute saw Gray creating a half chance for the Foxes when he took a right footed shot just outside the box. Yet it wasn’t enough to bother the Reds keeper.

Injury time at the end of the first half saw Liverpool doubling their lead ahead of the Foxes. An unmarked Firmino headed in the corner taken by James Milner into the bottom right corner.

Just as in the first half, the early minutes of the second half too showcased an end to end spell of counter attacks by both the sides. In the 51st minute James Maddison found himself space to go for a goal. But the effort ended up straight in the hands of Allisson.

Maddison again pushed into the Liverpool box after an error by Virgil van Dijk. Joseph Gomez executed a tackle on Maddison through which the ball deflected on to Wilfred Ndidi who drove the ball low to the right of the goal and was denied by Alisson.

Ghezzal manages to make it 2-1 as the Foxes took all the advantage of a horrible back pass by Van Dijk to Allison in the 64th minute. Maddison managed to steal the possession off the bad pass and fed it to the Ghezzal who converted it to his first league goal for Leicester.
