The Physical Education Department of University of Peradeniya successfully concluded the Inter-University Hockey tournament at the University of Peradeniya grounds from 22nd to 24th August 2014.
In this year’s tournament five Universities were battling out for the championship under categories of Men’s and Women’s. The teams are namely; University of Moratuwa, University of Peradeniya, University of Colombo, University of Sri Jayawardenapura & University of Uva. Nevertheless in the Men’s category, University of Moratuwa beats University of Peradeniya and University of Colombo beats University of J’pura in the Women’s category to grab the Championships.
Results of the matches played over the weekend are as follows;
Men’s
1st Place – University of Moratuwa
2nd Place – University of Peradeniya
3rd Place – University of Colombo
Women’s
1st Place – University of Colombo
2nd Place – University of Sri Jayawardenapura
3rd Place – University of Peradeniya
