Archery is rapidly gaining popularity, especially in western province, with the likes of Methodist College, St. Bridget’s Convent, Ladies’ College, D S Senanayake College, Asian International School, S Thomas’ College and Nalanda College taking to the bow and arrow in recent times. The Colombo Open Archery Championship will provide an opportunity for the new blood that has been injected to the sport to put their skills to the test while gaining the invaluable experience of participating in a major championship.

This championship is an ideal opportunity for the seasoned archers to have a flex before they gear up for the South Asian Games which will be held later this year. While all the age groups and the Open category will be contested in both Male and Female segments, the over 40 will be contested as a mixed competition.
