Five star Hameedians crush lackluster Ananda

It was Hameed Al Husseinie all the way as they dominated from start to finish against a resource less Ananda College outfit to trounce them 5-0 in their Kotmale Chox Schools’ U19 Football Championship opener worked off at P.D.Sirisena grounds, Maligawatta.

One of the tournament favorites Hameed Al Husseinie shifted through the gears within a matter of seconds after kick off as they pinned the Anandians to their own half.

With skipper Mohomed Aman and co given the license to roam across midfield it clearly unsettled the Anadian set up which lost its defensive shape while having to be content with thumping the ball clear.

Unable to make anything happen offensively the Ananda forwards had to be content with helping out in defense against a flamboyant Hameedian attack. After squandering a few early chances Hameedia grabbed their deserved first goal in the 23rd minute when Aman unleashed a shot from the edge of the box leaving the Anandian goalkeeper rooted to his place.

The onslaught continued as they managed to grab a second when Keetige Sandaruwan cut loose from his markers and finished from an acute angle in the 32nd minute.

The second half saw nothing new in terms of proceedings as Hameedia began from where they left off, pressing the Ananda lads deep into their own half.

Their persistence paid off in the 73rd, 79th and 83rd minutes with substitute S.Abishayan, Mohamed Sajith and Aman scoring.

The Hameedians could have possibly put a few more through the Anandian sticks if not for their vigilant keeper who provided some sort of substance in goal.

It was certainly a day to forget for the Anadians as an all round Hameedian outfit piled on the misery.

Mohamed Sahan was the standout player amongst a bunch of Hameedian superstars as he brough all his front men into play with his creative passing and vision. His interceptions helped Hameedia retain possession on the rare occasions when they lost the ball.
