The 7-week long Cricket festival, the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup saw a dramatic end at the Home of Cricket, Lord’s on Sunday (14th July) as the home team emerged as champions of the World for the first time in history.

With both the finalists, England and New Zealand eyeing their first-ever World Cup win the final hurdle was nothing short of a thrilling heart-stopping contest. With neither of the teams losing, the winner was left to be decided on the number of boundaries scored.

While the people who thought against the ICC rule made their intentions clear on SM, most of the others opted the safe game, congratulating both teams.

Whatever is said and done now, England will not give away their trophy, will they? It was their day. Luck favoured them throughout. It’s luck which has the final call at most the times in life as well, isn’t it? So why not in sport?
