Vihanga Gunarathne (55) and Dulaj Egodage (3/32) starred as Dharmapala College defeated Rahula College in the 3rd Battle of the Golden Lions Limited Overs Encounter worked off today at P. Sara Oval Cricket grounds in Colombo.

After winning the toss, Dharmapala College opted to bat first and posted 215 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Vihanga Gunarathne (55) and Avishka Hasarinda (36) top scored with the bat for the Palians. Thimira Chandika and Chamuditha Dilshan picked up 3 wickets each for Rahula College.
Rahula College was never in the run chase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals without any significant partnerships in the middle. They made 204 runs all-out in 49.5 overs with Chamuditha Dilshan (42) and Sasindu Avishka (41) top scoring with the bat.
Dulaj Egodage was the pick of the bowlers for the Palians as he took 3 scalps for 32 runs. In addition, Tharindu Sandaruwan gave him good support at the other end picking up 2 wickets for 25 runs.
